i'm just sayin'

Oil (gas) companies had a record high profit this year, and heads are being called to Capital Hill to 'splain it. They (the heads) say it's not only because of the price of gas, but it has to do with tax breaks, too.
Exxon had a record profit (again - also in 2005) of 40bil (40.61, actually) and had huge tax breaks.
That'd be by Uncle George, of course.
I'm not complaining about something out of my control, or blaming, I just don't drive much to do my part - ie I refuse to play.
I'm not bitter, I'm not angry, I'm not feeling victimized or trapped.
I'm just sayin'...

Believe you me, we are definitely feeling it around here. I don't drive much, but Lee has no choice due to the line of work he's in and our gas bill was over $400 last month!! Thinking it might be a wise decision to convert his gas guzzling truck to electric, even with the cost of the conversion, it would be cheaper than buying a newer truck.

wow! that is some self control you've got there because if i lived in the US i'd be fuming over this horrendous mess.

and it is a mess that will not go away anytime soon.

by mess i mean all of it...recession quickly sliding into depression, murder in iraq, fuel prices...

i have noticed that GW has all but disappeared from the scene. where has he gone?

sorry if i seem bitter. i just think it;s an outrage what's been going on for the past almost 8 years. what happened to the country i was born and raised in?

Well.
The thing about that is...
I couldn't believe it the first time he was elected. I thought it was impossible.
The second time (amidst war and other chaos) I thought... Well.
Psh.
Not a chance!
Really.
I thought there was No POssible Way. Why was he even running? He didn't have a chance.

Now?
Now after so much humility I'm just so relieved that it's almost over.
It's like there is only a basic relief that I am still alive to tell the tell.
